Antique Sevres Porcelain hand painted Plate The Battle of Poitiers Circa 1844 Antique Sevres Plate depicting a battle scene from the battle of Poitiers. Circa 1844 Chateaux de Tuileries An Absolutely stunning and rare opportunity has given me the pleasure to offer without reserve a beautiful antique Porcelain plate made in chateaux de Tuileries Sevres Factory Paris in 1844. NB:- This is one of two similar Sevres plates that i have listed.... Moving on..!! The Plate is hand painted and signed to the rear with the usual Sevres mark. The scene is named Le Roi Jean a Poitiers.. and shows The battle of Poitiers. The outer reserves of the plate is in the Sevres Bleau Celeste and shows cameo scenes of the camps used in the battle at that time. The Bleu Celeste is very worn in places but this is commensurate with age. The detail and workmanship that has gone into this cabinet plate is truly stunning and just typical of Sevres Quality. The Sevres Factory only produced for the aristocrats at that time so the quality was as to be expected, fit for kings and queens and no less...!!
