This wonderful Gift Box was painted by Sister Alice M. Howland (1884-1973) who was Canterbury New Hampshire's last Shaker Lady Beekeeper. We believe it to be Circa 1900. This piece is a close duplicate to the one that sold at Willis Henry's outstanding Shaker Auction at Doug Towle's home in Gilmanton, New Hampshire (see photo). Condition is very good for its age; t is minor paint flaking as you can see in the photos, but the box is in fine condition, the hinges are good and it retains its wonderful original stenciled top. The box is 3 ¾ X 6 ½ inches and 2 ¾ inches deep. The gift box was owned for many years by our dear old friend Mr. Harold Johnson (Winnie) of Concord , New Hampshire who loved the Canterbury Shakers. As usual we guarantee the authenticity of this piece. Buyer pays $5.00 USPS Priority Shipping; insurance is extra and is mandatory.
