"ANTIQUE SHELL CAMEO 9K GOLD BROOCH - HEMERA GODDESS OF DAY" A terrific and impressive 19th century Antique hand carved natural shell Cameo carved in relief to depict a beautiful "Hemera" , personification of Day, wearing roses in her hair, her bird the eagle with outstretched wings perching on a flaming torch, bringing light to the world just as the day is breaking. The domed cameo is in very fine condition and set into a plain good quality 9ct yellow gold frame in superb condition . On the reverse the original pin and "C" clasp are in excellent condition. Marked 9ct. Loop for safety chain. Condition: Superb without damage . Dimensions: The Brooch measures 1 7/8 inches x 1 7/16 inches. Weight: 15.8 grams.
