I did a little research on the net trying to identify the two military men in this antique painting. They are dresses in dark blue navy or marines uniforms with tam o shanter hats. Measuring 7" by 9 ¼" this oil painting is on a wood panel. There is a signature in the lower left hand corner, but I can only make out L. M???el. There are no problems or restorations to this 19th century oil painting and it comes in a 17 ½" by 19 ¼" antique frame with a professional regilded surface.
