This is an old Chinese hand painted scroll I got from the family of a woman who was a missionary in China in the thirties. She returned to the United States in the forties and brought all of her treasures with her. This scroll does not have weights on the ends and it is very delicate and thin. It is silk like the others but on very light weight material in the back. The scroll pictures birds, branches, flowers. It is masterfully painted and is so beautiful. The scroll has some discoloration spots, creases and the edges are tattered places, but not the image piece, just the edges of the thin backing. See pictures. It is signed in red . it is very lovely. I have many scrolls and I am selling a few of them because I had to borrow the money to buy them. I need to sell a few to pay the money back and another bill so my debt is your gain.
