NO RESERVE TRUE AUCTION. This is a STUNNING Scandinavian (Hunting/Fighting) PUUKKO KNIFE, SIGNED BY THE MAKER!!! M. HEVOEN or M. HENOEN. I cannot find him in my research, if anyone knows ANYTHING about him...VERY INTRICATE AND BEAUTIFUL SHEATH DESIGN, too nice to be used in the field in my opinion. I believe the handle and sheath to possibly be reindeer/elk antler or bone, and to have been made sometime in the early 20th century, 20's or 30's, possibly earlier. The handle measures 3 5/8" long and 1' wide. It has 3 leather bands, and a nice little scrimshawed symbol at the top. The knife is SOLID and It feels VERY COMFORTABLE in the hand! The leather bands give it a great grip, It could definitely be used for skinning and or gutting big game. As you would expect from such a piece. The blade measures 4 3/8" long and 3/4" wide, and is cold stamped BR&Co, which I believe to indicate a BRUSLETTO BLADE. It's in great shape! There are a few light blemishes, but NO RUST or PITTING. Almost never or EVER SHARPENED, it's pretty sweet! ... but The sheath is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The leather upper part of the sheath has a thin leather strap, measures 3 7/16" in length, and has 3 nice embossed bands that mimic the 3 bands on the handle. Just the leather stitching on the back of the upper is something to see. That's where a Nordic craftsman would read more
