DESCRIPTION A Hand Made Victorian Needle Case. These items are often referred to as Housekeeping Cases or Necessaries. It is made of Camel Silk Taffeta or Faille and trimmed with Navy Blue binding and bows of silk. When open, t are 2 pouches, one larger with ample gussets to place other sewing accessories. The smaller pouch also has gussets and is finished at the bottom with dainty ruffled work. A stuffed roll for a needle and/or pin cushion finishes the piece and provides a form to roll the case around. This precious piece is a product of Home Craft in the Late Victorian Era. This case is all HAND MADE. Careful Stitching is easily observed. A Fine Example of this Genre. ID ENTIFICATION No marks or evidence of ownership DIMENSIO NS Open Length: 7 5/8" long without ribbons Width: nearly 5" CONDITION Excellent! No fading or wear of Fabric.
