As part of Catholic religious tradition, solid silver Milagros (Ex Voto) were often offered to a saint as a reminder of a petitioner's particular need, or in gratitude for prayers answered. After several weeks or months, the Milagro was removed from the church Alter or statue, and stored; most were eventually sold as scrap-silver, melted down, and recycled. It was a source of income for the church. The antique ones are ENTIRELY hand fashioned from thick silver, according to the instructions given to the silversmith by the petitioner. This one weighs 20 grams of acid tested SOLID SILVER (not platted), and its size is 2.75"X2". It comes from Mom's collection and she only has a few more left. The Milagro was left anonymously, so its symbolism or design elements are inspired by what the petitioner may have asked for and received. No two are alike because they were custom made; so bid high if you want this one, once it is gone, t will not be another like it. Good luck bidding! Sellers: Delight buyers.
