APPRAISAL IS FOR REPLACEMENT COSTS ONLY (SEE BELOW) Antique and period style jewelry and silver are unique, and as such, reproduction costs are not applicable. Often it may be difficult to find an item comparable to the one being appraised. Even if the market does exist, it may not be large enough to yield sufficient data for an accurate valuation. Tfore, the method used to appraise antique and period jewelry and silver is Replacement Cost for Comparable Items . DESCRIPTION: This gorgeous one-of-a-kind guaranteed antique necklace contains 5 gem laden egg shaped lavaliers with diamonds and channel set rubies throughout. The eggs are 3 different sizes and different intricate designs in each one all set with diamonds into sterling silver and 14k yellow gold trimmings. The large egg is 22mm wide and 44mm long and contains 340 accent diamonds and 24 larger foil backed diamonds that go all the way around the egg. In the center is a row of channel set rubies set into bands of 14k yellow gold on each side, these are excellent gem quality rubies. T are 4 strands of rubies in between that make the necklace 20 inches long. The ruby beads are excellent 2-3.5mm beads with pigeon blood red color and very nice transparency. The medium sized eggs are 22x30 mm in size with 24 of the large diamonds also and pave' set diamonds on the ends. The smaller egg lavaliers are 16x32m with 7 larger diamonds in each piece that make this a spectacular item. T are 86 large foil backed diamonds mostly pear shaped with weights of .15 to .40 carats each in size. They are old rose "lop" cuts with flat tables and some faceting on the tables. They are "I-J" color with "I2" clarity which means they are mostly white with some inclusions that can be seen with the eye. The larger diamonds total 21.5 carats which sets the average diamond at .20 carats which is an underestimation. Some of the diamonds are perfectly white and clean without any inclusions however we provide the lower grading so you will be very happy with your purchase. He also remarked that the smaller diamonds are old European cut diamonds, all 1476 of them. They are cognac to white colored but mostly on the white side, and total 29.52 carats together. Summary: The larger rose cut diamonds are 21.5 carats while the accent diamonds are 29.52 carats for a - grand total of 51.2 carats of genuine diamonds. - The rubies add another 75 carats. The necklace weighs weighs 81.3 grams is 20 inches long with 1562 genuine diamonds. METAL: Silver and Gold CONDITION: All items are in antique or vintage condition with associated and expected wear.
