Up for auction is an antique silver jewelry box, not marked so that I cannot tell the composition but it looks like sterling silver to me. I can only confirm that it is not plated, black discoloration which is typical in sterling silverware, well maintained without any damage or scratches, the hinges are working well, it closes and open without any problem. The inside of this box is made of wood. Size 7 3/4" x 5" x 2 1/4", weighs around 1 lb 4 oz. Inscription on the inside of the cover "Luvenire 1904 Viki si Ovidiu." Does not sound like English. I think Luvenire is the name of a place. The buyer can return this item to me within 14 days for a refund. Shipping and handling is $5 flat for US buyers with optional insurance $1.5. International buyers pay $7 without insurance. Please contact me for combined shippment. The inscription is likely "Souvenire" instead of "Louvenire." I ran a very simple chemical test with bleaching agent. The metal of this jewelry box has the same darkening reaction to bleaching agent compared to sterling sivler. Nickle silver does not have this kind of reaction. Also, I sanded a part of the box for testing so that it is not silverplate or something like that. I can almost say with certainty that this antique jewelry box is made of over one pound of sterling silver.
