This auction is for a very hard-to-find box of new-old-stock Singer Sewing Machine and/or White Sewing Machine attachments. I believe that the generic Singer attachments were made by Greist, and I am assuming that these are for a Singer, as well. There is a huge quantity of mint condition pieces – no rust or abrasions (all as if they have never been used). Most identified pieces are marked with ‘Greist’ and include: Tucker, 5-Stitch Ruffler, 6 different Hemmers, Binder, 2 different Screwdrivers, Edge-Stitcher, a key, 6 needles, and 8 (eight) undefinable pieces (to me), for a total of 27 pieces in all. Again, these are all shiny and apparently unused. There is an inserted paper reading: Geist Attachments / IMPORTANT / Oil Lightly all Moving Parts of Attachments before Using / Learn to use your ATTACHMENTS. It is not difficult / Experiment on small squares or strips of cloth. A little practice will enable you to make, on your machine and at a surprisingly small cost, a great variety of useful and beautiful articles, with many dainty and original effects, which would be expensive to buy or take hours to make by hand. / This set packed by No. 81 / In case of any complaint relative to the contents of this box, RETURN THIS SLIP. / Form No. 1211. These all come in the original box, which is made of a furry kind of cardboard. At the top, ‘ATTACHMENTS’ is printed in red, along with Art Deco designs and a circle with a woman at her sewing machine. This prompts me to date these to the late teens to early 1920s. The box measures approximately 5 inches wide, 1-3/4 inches tall, and 2-3/4 inches deep. It is in excellent condition, as well.
