Yes, this is the same piece that was listed last week - an unscrupulous "member" came in at the last minute with an illegal bid and the listing was pulled. I/we have to start from scratch and I hope those that were interested will find this piece again. So...back to square 1 - I am offering this very rare sold brass - exquisite Griesbaum #19 Singing Bird Box in a beautiful intricate brass filigree (on all sides except the bottom.) The patina is original. The Giesbaum KG Company of Germany was founded in the 1905 and closed in 1985 - I have been advised that this particular box dates mid 20th century. It measuers 4" x 2"-1/2" x 1-3/4" and it is in fine original working condition. The slide on the front of the box opens the lid and up pops the featd bird. This delightful moving bird in done in real colorful feathers and it sings with clear whistles and chirps while he moveds back and forth. The wind up key is in the shape of a bird. I am not an automata expert - this piece is being offered by the family of my dad's late friend. We do know that it works - we know it is a fine piece that is easily researched - I googled singing bird music box and was led to a site that after a few clicks found the identical piece being offered for close to $3000. They even have a link to listen to the singing bird. Feel free to email any questions and
