I have for sale another nice old sled just in time for the holidays. This sled is I believe from around the turn of the century but I am not an expert so do your "homework". It is certainly very old with the curved wrought iron runners and nice thick oak board. The sled measures 37" long, 7" high,( 12" high with the front runners) and 12" wide. The underside of the sled is old red dark paint which I believe is original. The runners are also painted red although t is paint loss and t The top was red at one time along with some bright yellow of which you still can see traces, especially on the sides. Most of the paint has worn off of the top to expose nice old oak. The top is held on with large old screws. I do not know if they were added later for stability but they are old. The top could be unscrewed and flipped over for a red top but I am leaving it as is because t is a charming "SLIM" carved into the top and I think that is just great. Can you just see Slim flying down the hill on his speedy fast sled!!! This sled is in very good condition for the age. T is some rusting on the runners and the top has slightly separated in the middle. This can be fixed by unscrewing one half and moving it a bit to close the gap. The top has a couple of small holes and shows some age. But overall this is a great sled with the old runners and would make a nice addition to a collection or just for display for the holidays. Shipping will be by FedEx. I have shipped 4 old sleds to California and have had very good luck. The shipping listed would be for the west coast.
