NO RESERVE. This is a handsome antique (older art deco era) heavy ring. Made of solid 18K gold with oval shaped, hand cut (cabochon) natural star sapphire , and round cut brilliant 7 pts diamond. Has European 18k hallmark: "750". Diamond and star sapphire are of excellent quality. Star sapphire is light blue with 5 point star inclusions (asterism) which shows up more in true life than photos show. I can't give exact cwt of star sapphire stone with out altering it's setting but it's measurements should give you an idea: 9.5 mm 7 mm by 6 mm (goes deep). In case you have not seen a real genuine star sapphire, know that the older hand cut natural star sapphires will have imperfections in carved backs, due to older stone cutting.Stone is highly collectible. Stone alone, is rare and sought out by collectors. Ring is very well custom made. Diamond is in a handsome etched triangle design. Ring looks impressive on most fingers. Ring is a size 9.5 but consider that right hand fingers are usually thicker than left hand fingers (same with those who are left handed). Ring can be re-size by your local jeweler. (Laser solder is most recommended).Also, a ring guard well due to it's shank is wide enough. Ring is very heavy. weighs: 11.6 grams. It came from our Edwardian era /art deco era jewelry collection. It was well kept and in very excellent condition (pardon any reflective photo glare). Estimated value is aprox. USD $1500 (this modern day estimate does not include it's high antiquity collectible value $$). Would make a fabulous gift. Or, own it yourself and invest in this heavy 18K gold ring and appreciate the compliments you'll get as it's antiquity value continues to increase even more so over time.
