This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on an old antique drop leaf gateleg table from the early 1900's around the turn of the century. Itr is a really nicely y made table that is made of solid black walnut wood. No veneers anyw, all solid wood. The base is quite nice with lovely fluted ball turned legs that swing out to support the drop leafs when extended. It stands 30" high and is 34.5" with both leaves down and extends to about 46" by 34.5" with both leaves up. The condition is very good with wear on the finish. The base still has the old ebonized finish on the wood but the table top ebony has long ago worn away to expose beautiful black walnut grain wood on the table top.This table can certainly be cleaned and waxed for use or could be easily refinished to look new if you desire to do so.It is very sturdy and sound with no breaks or repairs anyw It will be selling with an opening bid of $5 as do almost all of our auctions, with no reserve price set. Any bid can win! Sometimes, wood type is hard to identify with certainty on old pieces because of old finishes etc.. We try to describe to the best of our knowledge and ability, We are well experienced, but not experts in identifying wood species, and may or may not be correct in identifying actual wood species on some items.Please be sure to ask questions if you are uncertain about something.
