Listed today is a stunning antique gilt brass picture/photo frame. From my research I would say it dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's. Very heavy, weighs close to 3 pounds. I believe the figure at the top is a religious icon but not sure. It is very ornate as you can see. There are cherubs at the bottom on each side of the frame. It is only marked with the words "registered 75". It is quite large as well measuring 15-1/2" tall x 9-1/2" wide. It looks to me like there was either a photo or mirror glued in the frame at one time. There are no screws to hold in a mirror or a photo so I'm not sure what was in there originally (see last pic for close up). Regardless it's a stunning piece and would make a wonderful addition to any antique frame collection. Thanks for looking.
