This is a lovely Antique Solid Oak Tilt and Swivel Desk Chair with Arm Rests and a Height Adjustment in Excellent Condition. The desk chair is quality crafted from the 1930's and looks absolutely gorgeous. The mechanical ajustments allow you to individualize seating for maximum comfort. The seat is nicely contoured and the back has 8 vertical contoured slats for optimal back support and comfort. The base has 4 contoured legs with ball bearing metal casters and hard rubber rollers. The top of the mechanism underneath includes a serial number and date which reads "PATENTED AUGUST 8, 1930" or "1939". The chair measures 24" wide by 22" deep by from 32" to 36" high depending on the desired seat height adjustment. The seat itself measures 23-1/2" wide by 22" deep and sits about 15" above the floor at its lowest with a 4" additional seat height adjustment to find the most comfortable position. The seat has a protective "bumper" guard around the front and along the sides. The chair has an adjustable recline tilt and swivels a full 360 degrees. All mechanisms function easily and smoothly. The chair is in excellent condition with no breaks, chips, cracks or missing wood. T is a very small split underneath to one side of a leg w it meets the column which makes it hard to see. I believe it is from manufacture when the leg base was joined to the column and it is completely contained does not affect the integrity of the chair in any way (see last photo). T is also minor discoloration marking to the oak seat (see photo), which is not unexpected on a piece of this vintage and to many simply adds character. The chair is exceptionally clean and has been professionally refinished to protect and preserve its wonderful natural rich golden oak patina. The chair is 100% structurally sound and the joints are rock solid tight with no looseness whatsoever. This is truly a lovely Antique Solid Oak Desk Chair with Arms from the 1930's that looks fabulous, is structurally sound, functions perfectly and is very comfortable. I will ship UPS, or Pick-Up is available if Foxboro, Massachusetts is a reasonable drive.
