This item is both a rare collector's item and a great Easter present. It is a solid silver embossed egg which is internally fitted as a ring box. As can be seen in the first image, t is a vacant cartouche on the lid of the egg. As far as I can see, the cartouche has never been used. The hallmarks from left to right are:- i] The initials of the noted Chester silversmiths, George Nathan and Ridley Hayes. ii] Lion Passant. iii] Town mark for Chester. iv] Date letter being a small case 'e' for 1905/06. The Lion Passant and the date letter are repeated on the top half of the egg. The body is embossed with flowers on both lid and base. The overall length is approx. 9cms and the height, closed, is approx 6cms. Condition is excellent. No splits, holes and the hinge is crisp. T are spaces for 9 rings. U K postage and packing, recorded, is £2.50. Additional insurance at buyer's discretion. If you require further images, let me know.
