A lovely little 1.75" x 1.25" x 0.75" antique solid silver, fully hallmarked, snuff box with hinged lid. The sides are plain and in a hexagonal shape and the lid having a kind or rope design on the rim. The hinge is original and in excellent condition and the lid closes firmly and flush. There are a few small bruises around the sides on the base which can be rectified and there is one tiny hole on the underside in one corner which you may just be able to see in the last photo. Still a good quality nice snuff box over 100 years old. The English hallmarks on the underside are a little rubbed but I can just make out part of the silversmiths mark which I think reads "M ? J", then the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the sterling silver lion passant mark and a date letter of "a" which I believe is for 1900. Approx. weight of silver is 20 grams. .
