This is a solid silver, fully hallmarked oval bangle engraved, on one side, with roses and foliage. The other side is plain. The quality of the engraving is much better than usual and the flowers and leaves feel raised to the touch. There are some dents and a number of scratches inside the bangle. This should not present a problem as this bangle is solid and not one of the cheaper hollow type. It will therefore be relatively easy to remove the dents. Fully hallmarked but I am having trouble with the date letter and the year. We have the Anchor, being the town mark for Birmingham, the Lion Passant, showing the silver purity of 925/1,000 and in addition the date letter is a small case 'h' which looks as though it is for 1882. I feel that if it was this old it would also have the Monarch's head but it is unlike any other Birmingham 'h' I can find. Bidders will have to decide for themselves. Hinge and clasp work well. Approx. dimensions - 6.2cms by 5.6cms across. 1.8cms wide. Weight 20.7grms. I am happy to supply further images but will need an email address.
