I have a collection of over 100 swords. If you are looking for a particular pattern / model please let me know as I might have one and may be willing to list it on eBay. This is a Spanish âeoe Main Gauche âe or left handed dagger which was used in combination with a rapier (held in the right hand) in a duel. It is either 17 th Century or it could possibly be 19th Century as these weapons and their associated rapiers enjoyed a renaissance later on. The item is authentic and was bought by me from a well known auction house, Thomas Del Mar (who operate in association with Sothebyâe(tm)s) along with a 17 th Century Tomas Daiala Rapier recently. As I do not believe from the hilt styling this Main Gauche was the original item used by man who bought the rapier 328 years ago, I have decided to sell it. Although Main Gauches often were of a different design (so it is hard to say for sure), it was principally the rapier I was after.
