Collection Francaise Limited Edition Sculptures from Century-Old french Moulds. "Semeuse et Moissoneur" by C. Desmeure - "The Sower and the Reaper"_ A Limited issue of 850 pairs originally priced at $595.00. They were originally issued circa 1865. Ht. 13 1/2". Collection Francaise shield w/ Made in USA on each piece. The figures are crafted in bronzed spelter, also known as French bronze. This pair is #337, indicated beneath the shield/medallion. This pair can be referenced in the Encyclopedia of Bronzes, Sculptors & Founders. This is a very old pair of spelter statues in good antique condition. The finish retains about 25% of the original bronzed finish; just enough to give a lovely aged patina. T are no visible cracks or damage to pieces. These are really heavy, unique collectablies.
