This is a beautiful Early Spode Stone China Covered Vegetable Dish c.1815-1820 in the Peacock pattern #2118 . Measuring approximately 9 1/4" x 9 1/4" x 4 3/4" high this wonderful polychrome covered serving dish is in excellent condition with only some minor wear of the rim edge striping and the gold of the finial tip. T are NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs and NO reglazing. The ironstone is perfectly bright as are the rich and vibrant colors of the Peacock pattern. The underside of the vegetable dish is marked with the SPODE Stone China mark (used on ironstone in the early 19th century) in transfer along with the pattern #2118 hand scripted in red. The underside of the lid also has the hand scripted #2118 in red. Fashioned during the neo-classical period this graceful and balanced piece exhibits the quality and workmanship that has kept Spode in finest collections for over 200 years.
