Exciting Estate Find!!! This auction is for an early Staffordshire flatback figurine. Made around th 1850's, French General Pelissier is shown mounted on his horse. Pelissier was a prominent figure in the Crimean War--"Charge of the Light Brigade" time frame. It was the style to display famous people's figurines on the mantle during Victorian times, and the same figure was often used for more that one person, just the coloring and the name were changed. Marked "General Pelissier" in black hand lettering on the base. Beautifully colored. Has some shredded clay "grass" by horse's back foot. T is one chip on the general's plumed hat. Other than age-related crazing, t are no other faults that I can find. Stands about 9 1/4" tall and 8" wide. Low, low start and no reserve!! Email any questions or photo requests. Will ship Priority mail with insurance recommended. If you do not opt for insurance, shipping is at your risk. Insurance is required for international shipments.PayPal is preferred and is required for international payments.
