This is a beautiful VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY FIGURE of THE RETURN OF THE PRODIGAL SON captioned PRODIGALS:RETURN In my estimation it dates from around the mid 19 th Century, circa 1850-1870, but please make up your own mind about this. The figure measures approx 13 1/2 inches (340mm) tall and depicts the famous Biblical scene, when the Prodigal Son is welcomed home by his father. This figure is in very good overall condition with no major damage or repairs. It is a fine example of its type, and it would make a great addition to any collection. Please see the photos for condition and type (NB There is a small firing mark at the back, on the father's upper arm. This is not damage, but happened in the kiln as the figure was being made, and is underneath the glaze.)
