Large 1.5 liter capacity German beer stein stands 14 inches tall and basically honors the “fortunate” or well off people or man. The lettering to either side of the clock reads “Dem Gluecklichen schlaegt keins stunde” which translates to; “For the fortunate, the clock does not strike” or “time does not matter for the fortunate”. The basic brown & green colors used tend to indicate a stein made in the early part of the 20 th century and sometimes even earlier as this is what many manufacturers were using then. Nice ornate handle in shape of a vine and great details on body like the clock with no hands, a happy man with his pipe and full beer stein in hand on front and nice hops designs to the back all make for a very interesting & classic stein sure to grace any collection. The pewter lid has slight play in the hinge & strap but all are in great shape/condition as is the rest of the stein. The markings on the bottom are “GERMANY” ‘96’ (under handle too) and ‘9’ as well as a ‘T’ off to the side. Buyer to pay within 3 days of auctions end. Please check my other auctions for more interesting steins. You might see something else you like! Combined shipping discount applies.Delivery confirmation included with all shipments.
