This is a Wonderful Locket!
This is a Vintage Art Deco (c1925 or so) Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel Locket hung on a Sterling Chain....This locket boasts a Silhouette image of two girls playing what appears to be violins...see images.
This locket as well as another similar one was recently purchased from an estate....(I am listing BOTH Lockets tonight on ebay, one is round and one is Oval)--so take a moment to check out our other auctions....as we combine shipping!
This locket measures about 1" in diameter.
The locket has been carefully TESTED and it tests for Sterling silver....(t is what may be the remnants of a mark on the loop at the top of the locket, but I cannot read it...see images..)
The chain measures about 18" long and it is about 2.1mm wide.
The chain is marked 925 ITALY at the catch..see images... it appears as though the chain is a bit more recent than the locket.
This locket boasts guilloche enamel on the front, and t are a pair of silhouetted figured, two girls who appear to be Playing the violin? --see images..
The enamel is done in a variety of pale pastel tones....see images...
This locket is hinged on the bottom, t is only one bezel in this locket...and no makers marks, but t are symbols underneath the Photos that are with this locket, scratched into the sterling....please see images..
This locket is in Very good vintage condition...please enlarge images to get a closer look at its condition.
The enamel is in great condition, with No dings/chips or flakes etc..., t are some scratches in the enamel in the center of the locket, visible when the light is at certain angles...please see images...I would categorize them as minor scratches, as my nail just barely 'feels' them when I run a nail over them.
T is a small amount of Play/Wiggle in the hinge, though this locket opens well and snaps closed securely.
The sterling shows some minor scratches, though none very large deep or objectionable...see images...
I would have to categorize this item to be in good vintage condition with some minor sings of age....
This is a wonderful Vintage Deco locket From the Early 1900's.....-quite Unique in its design!
