LOVELY STERLING CRYSTAL VANITY DRESSER JAR NO MONO 1897 HALLMARKED CHESTER ENGLAND JOHN/WILLIAM DEAKIN APPROX. MEAS. 3 1/2H by 2 5/8"D weight of lid .6oz reg scale TOTAL weight 7.0oz reg scale This is a stunning dresser jar. Came from a lovely family estate auction held in the Midwest and is one of two dresser pieces I have listed. Despite needing a soft polish, the condition is very very good. T is one small indentation to the silver lid near the maker's mark which I photographed. The overall quality of the silver-crafting is superb. Highly elaborate repousse with a scrolled leaf and thatched star pattern. Ornate. T are no apologies to the crystal base that I can detect. Glass is clear and not cloudy. Beautifully beveled and polished rim. Glass is cut in a multi-faceted star motif. Rather weighty and substantial. Cut and beveled star on the bottom. Would make a fabulous gift or striking piece to add to any collection of vantiy items or finer silver from the Art Nouvea era. Exceptionally nice piece of silver.
