Antique Sterling Sewing Chatelaine w/ Tools 3 Chains * English * Hallmarked 1888-1900 This ornate silver chatelaine has three chains with tools. The plaque is is an elaborate one with 4 panels and has beautifully pierced scrolling motifs that feature cupids and other figures. The plaques and belt clip have the English sterling hallmarks for Birmingham 1888 and the maker's mark for S. Walton Smith . It's in excellent condition with a strong hinged clip and no damage to the silver. The chains are all original, matching and also hallmarked. Attached to the chains are 3 sterling tools (all hallmarked English). T's a silver scissors sheath (hallmarked 1891) and sterling handled scissors, a needle packet case ( hallmarked 1891 ) and a sterling tape measure (hallmarked 1900). The needle case and the scissors sheath were made by Cornelius Saunders & Frank Shepherd and the tape is by Henry Matthews. All of the silver is in excellent condition with no dents or damage. The little scissors cut very well and are 3 1/4" long. The tape measure has the original silk tape, beginning at 7". The scissors sheath and needle packet case have their original velvet lining and t's a packet of old needles in the case.
