ANTIQUE STERLING SOLID SILVER GLASS CASED MANICURE NAIL BUFFER & POLISHING SET HALLMARKED FOR BIRMINGHAM & CHESTER 1913 S*B SYNYER & BEDDOES Description: Astunning English sterling silver nail buffer and polishing set in an exceptional cut glass case. The nail buffer has a solid silver top and handle, and a wooden core with the original buffing leather attached. The pot at the front, with a solid silver lid, is for keeping nail polishing paste, used to bring your nails up to a perfect shine. This is a wonderful set of perfectly simplistic Art Deco style, and very rare to find complete. Hallmarked to the buffer: Silversmith: Synyer and Beddoes Assay Office: Chester, 1913 Hallmarked to the pot lid: Silversmith: Synyer and Beddoes Assay Office: Birmingham, 1913 Dimensions: widest point - 11.7 cm, 4 5/8 " Weight pot lid (all silver): 15 grams Weight buffer (incl. wooden core): 34 grams Condition: Important note: Although the assay offices do not match between the pot lid and the buffer mount, the makers name is the same, and the date letter is the same, so I can only assume that both parts are original to the glass case. There is one area of damage to the glass, and a corresponding dent to the silver as shown in photo 8. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
