A primitive 2Gal. Salt-Glazed Crock; early Ovoid form with Cobalt accents on applied lug handles. There is a capacity mark stamped on the collar. This is a New England piece, likely made in Connecticut sometime around 1860. The overall condition is excellent. There is a surface line in the glaze near the base (lower right), and some minor flaws on the Albany Slip interior; these appear to be production related (see close-ups). No other excuses with this Keeper; displays exceptionally. See photos for complete details and further description. Measures 9"W x 11-3/8"H overall. The inner rim diameter varies from 6-3/4" to 7". The base measures 5-1/2" across; 8.8 lbs. Thanks for looking and be sure to bookmark my other Auctions ending soon. Ships with full insurance to the highest bidder, anywhere in the lower 48.Posted with eBay Mobile
