This auction is for a very nice mint condition antique salt glaze stoneware water cooler. It holds 2 gallons. It has its original lid and spout. The gasket around the spout will need to be replaced as it too is original and is cracking. It has no chips, cracks or crazing. I do not know the maker of this but it may be Western Stoneware. I collect Red Wing and picked this piece up several years ago at a farm sale; any help in identifying the make is appreciated- it has sat amongst my Red Wing crocks for many years without identification. It is grayish white with blue striped decoration and the #2 on the front. I know that this is at least 52+ years old as the inscription on the bottom is dated Sept. 1955. I suspect that it is much older and was perhaps a family heirloom gifted, maybe, at a wedding. No cracks, chips or crazing; minor glaze flaws as is innt in such old stoneware pieces. This was made on a wheel or jigger and not by mold as clearly evidence in the photo of the inside. Please look at the pictures and ask questions before bidding. If you would like additional pictures I will be happy to provide them if you supply your email address in your question. Ebay does not allow attachments to Ebay responses. This is very heavy about 10 lbs. unpackaged. Insurance is required on this item. Please do not pay before you receive
