Very nice old strad copy violin. My luthier informed me that the characteristics of the label in this violin are synonymous with Jackson-Guldan violins. He also said this looked to be late '30's to early '40's, and obviously a higher end model due to the extremely nice wood and inlaid purfling. These violins are becoming more and more collectable. T are no cracks in the violin that I can find. Violin has nice inlaid purfling. All is well at the soundpost, bassbar, scroll and tab, and the pitch of the neck is right. T are no open seams that I can find on the violin, though the finish has a few dings and t, as could be expected of an older instrument. The fingerboard looks to be possibly rosewood, with ebony tuning pegs, chinrest and tailpiece. It should also be noted that the fingerboard shows some signs of wear, though it doesn't hurt the playability, it indicates this violin has been played alot. The tone, which is totally subject to individual opinion, is very nice. It is very well balanced and pleasing to listen to. It has significant volume, but it isn't a windowbuster, just a nice sounding violin. The playability of the violin is excellent, to me almost effortless. In summary, this is an excellent violin for the money. The is no reserve and a low starting bid. Don't miss this opportunity to own a nice, collectable, American read more
