JoeDaWolfWe sell everything, anyw This auction is for an antique student's desk in pristine condition. This schoolhouse desk was invented by S.P. Moulthrop and dates to the arts and crafts era of the early 1900's. Made by the Langslow Fowler Company of Rochester, NY, this desk is made of oak and was designed for a one room school. The table can be raised and lowered - depending on the height of the student. The table top can tilt forward and back.The desk and chair are one unit and stand 25 1/2" tall and 23" deep when the tabletop is flat. It measures 18" across the tabletop. The seat is 13" across and 12 1/2" from front to back. Langslow Fowler was an early maker of Arts and Crafts furniture in Rochester. They competed with Gustav Stickley, the Stickley Brothers and the Roycroft community. Many of their desk models, including the Moulthrop, were adjustable in many areas and fit many schools' needs.
