A beautiful Antique Style Victorian Enamel Snake Pendant with Locket. The snake is holding a heart shaped enamel locket. The snake's head and locket are adorned with pearls and his eyes are two cabachon garnets. He is sterling silver marked 925 R. The locket opens. It seems to be a copy of an orginal Victorian snake locket. The Victorians were very fond of snake jewelry. Prince Albert gave Queen Victoria a snake engagement ring. I think the chain is probably gold wash. The second to last photo shows a small mark w someone tried to test for 14K. The enamel on the snake and heart is flawless. The piece is exquisite very well made. The snake and heart are 2 inches long , 3/4 inch wide and the heart is 1/2 deep. It is approximately 21 inches including the pendant.
