Antique Sunderland Pink Lustre Trade Commercial Ship Dixon Co Peace PlaqueThis listing is for a wonderful and quite rare Antique Sunderland Pink Lustre Trade Commercial Ship Dixon Co Peace Plaque ! This plaque is marked on the back "Dixon Co" in an impress stamp mark. It also has a price sticker and a piece number 5786. I am unsure of when this price was placed on the piece, but the sticker appears very old itself.From some research I have found sites that say this plaque is an earlier example of this plaque. It features a transfer image of a sailing ship with a saying within a cartouche below. It is a colored version, with yellow beneath the writing, yellow/green above accented with some reddish brown at the flowers and lower flag. The edges are a sort of copper lustre. This version of the plaque measures about 7.75in by 8.75in The piece is in very good condition for its age, and has wear typical of these items. There is crazing to the piece, more notably seen on the back, but it is found throughout. On the back there are some areas that appear to be scuffs where glaze is now thinner that the rest of the piece, likely rubbing wear. There are quite a few marks underneath the glaze that are more than likely from when the piece was fired. (They look to be colors of the glaze used) There are some vary small areas of chipping at the
