Wow !!Pictured on the lid of this rare, antique Swiss music box - circa 1950 - is The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. This beautiful domed building is actually an extension of the original building, from 1894. The extension was built between 1904 and 1906 and was designed by S.S. Beman, a well-known Chicago architect. The little glass cover protecting the mechanism is present, and the two songs play beautifully, one after the other. They are hymns based on Mrs. Eddy's poetry: 1. Shepherd show Me how to go 2. O, Gentle Presence. Mechanically it's in perfect working order This came out of Estate and it is well taken care of as you can see from the pictures. Measures 3 inch 1/2 x 4 inch 7/8 inches, and 2 inches 3/8 tall.
Amazing beautiful little music box - would be wonderful in any collection and these are two of the religion's most beloved songs. Several years ago these were commanding well over $300 on eBay Thank you for bidding
