ANTIQUE BATTLE CREEK SWORD BELT & BUCKLE CEREMONIAL PHOTOS DO NOT DO THIS PIECE JUSTICE. PROVENANCE The ambiance is that of appreciated and respected esteemed antique, the fraternal order is unknown to me as I speak. I just knew when I came across this fabulous ceremonial sword belt, it embrace the command of the past. Everything about this aged ceremonial sword belt speaks fulsome partisanship. Truly an honor: to experience and hold. ITEM DESCRIPTION Being offered for the embrace of the past is an authentic antique (what I believe to be) Fraternal (if not religious) ceremonial sword belt with elegant weighty metal with enamel embellishments Battle Creek ( Michigan ) No. 33 rich reflective buckle. I got an email from a collector and he said he thought this to be a: Knights of Columbus ceremonial belt, got another email from another collector telling me this is a Knights Templar belt. As if the eloquent buckle was not impressive enough the antique leather belt with its trimmed metallic silver threading and it's impressively ornate chain clips contribute an air of impressive significance to its historic significance and character. This sword belt projects the dedication and importance of the person it was created for: W. Robert Dow. In my diligent research the name W. Robert Dow kept producing a livelihood of being a Doctor attached to the name. Which led me to confusion: due to the fact his practice was no w near this great state of Michigan . It will remain a mystery, till it is uncovered by a relative or a historian. Everything about this belt signifies dedication and quality. Its antique demeanor, its design and its contributing grace. I have to say I am truly mesmerized by its presence. My mind is baffled by the elegance in the hooks and the chains attached to its girth. Each individual link has been elegantly designed and attached individually to lend length to the chain. I wonder if they are silver. Belt appears to be in used but not abused condition. The eloquent metallic silver threading is strong and extremely eye catching. I have inspected the belt many times and I have found no makers marks or identification. Of course that doesn't mean t isn't any. In its extended length across my dining room table this icon of the past measures an exciting 38 ½ inches, with a full 1 ¾ of belt breadth. This ceremonial belt contains 3 impressive ornate hooks and chains. It appears the belt has been tucked away in a folder condition for many long years, hence the reason for the slight creased of a fold. Intriguing: the vibrant red enamel cross on the buckles front. A great treasure found. SHIPPING This antique treasure from the past will leave my home with a packaged shipping weight of 3 pounds from zip code 49601. Due to the recent sky rocking postal rates, please investigate the shipping charge before placing the winning bid. The price for shipping can be substantial. Please note this seller is not trying to take advantage of you, the postal system is however. PLEASE SAY EXTRA PRAYERS FOR OUR TROOPS AND MILITARY FAMILIES IN THIS GREAT TIME OF NEED AND PERSONAL SACRIFICE. MY SON AND HIS FAMILY: BEING ONE OF THE LOYAL AND PROUD ARMY FAMILIES. GO ARMY.
