Antique Indo-Persian Yataghan Sword Hello, for auction is fine and unusual yataghan sword. I think this one can be clasified as an indo-persian example. Unusual and a truly beautiful piece. Thick strong blade of 22", on a long side of yataghans of this type. Sharp and nicely curved. Nicely chiseled thick spine with extra lines, spine features gold koftgari decoration near the hilt. Gold coftgari signature on one side of the blade (some has been rubbed off). Blade is in good condition, t is some rust on the blade and little pitting, t are two or three very small hit marks on the cutting edge near the end of the blade. Bolsters are part of the blade and fully decorated in finely preserved koftgari. Now to the hilt: Most unusual grips made from beautiful green Malachite stone, mostly mined in the Ural mountains in Western Russia. Ural was legendary for mining and export of precious metals and stones. Malachite was a very expensive material used in a lot of jewelry. Hilt spine is steel and is part of the blade, covered with gold koftgari (a lot has been rubbed of). Sword is completely solid. Beautiful and unusual piece. T is no scabbard. Please see photos below. Overall length: 27"/ Blade: 22" ATTENTION!!! Important Info Below: SHIPPING: I will ship domestic and international (please check your country's customs regilations on this read more
