Antique Orig Adams School House 1888-1939 Teachers Hand Bell, Engraved! Listed and up for bidding is beautiful Antique Teachers School Bell. I believe this was from the original Adams Elementary School in Janesville,WI built in 1888 and appears to be all original!!! The bell itself is over 10" tall (10 1/4") and over 5 1/2" wide at its opening with a beautiful yet loud sound. The bell hangs from a beautiful handmade (walnut?) display stand which also records the school's history on its underside (see pictures). The bell also is engraved and says 'Adams School, 1888-1939, Janeesville, WI'. The engraving is faint, but there (hard to photograph the engraving). Apparently the Adams Principal (Miss Gagon) gave this to a student's dad when the new Adams school was built (Oct 1939). Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches.
