TETSUBIN Japanese antique cast iron teapot in a form of an old hut. Marked on bottom with maker's hieroglyphs. Height: 20 cm - 7 3/4" (handle up), Length: 16 cm - 6 1/2", Width: 13 cm - 5 1/2". Weight approx. 1.8 kg. Japanese tetsubin (iron teapots) evolved from larger vessels used centuries ago to heat water for tea and provide warmth and humidity in the home during the winter. The superior quality, beauty, and lasting durability of iron products have earned them the worldwide reputation. In good condition for it's age, rusty inside, no damage or restoration.
