DESCRIPTION MLN 1508 / Antique Tiger Oak Arts & Crafts Bed, Full-Queen Size ~ This listing is for a grand high back slatted arts & crafts style bed of solid tiger oak. It is one of three coordinating pieces we've listed this week which make up a very fine set of furniture for the bedroom. We've shown photos of the dresser and armoire, though this auction is for the bed alone. So 's this glorious bed which, used with or without its companion pieces, is an exceptional beauty. It's got big, thick slats with wonderful golden flake quarter-sawn oak grain. It's elegant and simple with just the right amount of beaded detail and a medallion centered head- and footboard. It comes with its original metal rails and fittings which we took off simply for transport. In order to utilize this for queen, it needs to have modification rails added. We have complete instructions for doing that or we can do it for you before the piece leaves our shop for approximately $149. Condition of this grand old beauty is fine with no concerns noted. We love the idea of this piece and its mates used with piles of white linens, just a little lace, and some old quilts. It would be a beautiful thing indeed, and finding these three solid oak pieces, so well coordinated and working so well together is a rarity. Fresh from an English estate, this piece and its mates date from the latest 1800s to 1915 or so. Gorgeous.
