An antique primitive tote/carrier in the best original, dry Windsor green paint! From a Rhode Island barn, this piece is a true primitive, worn in all the right places. Original square nail construction with the exception of one replacement nail in the base. Canted sides and a hand chiseled opening for the handle. Measures 12-1/2 long x 9-1/4 wide x 2-5/8 inches high; 10-7/8 x 7-7/8 inch base--odd measurement giving credibility to its farm-made origin. The base has a quarter inch gap. I believe it started life as one piece and this "chunk" fell out along the way. The age of the nails in the bottom and the fantastic patina may verify that.A wonderful primitive piece with a desirable form, age, color and patina.Shipped from my smoke free home to U.S. only.Payment within 3 days of auction end is greatly appreciated.
