I am pleased to offer this true piece of medical American history! This is a very early traveling Doctor's examining table with the stirrups that are adjustable. It has a bag attached and in the bag is an old blood pressure piece that was made of rubber and melted and crumbled so that particular part of it, is literal history, but is included. This is portable, collapsible and has two pieces that come out for your legs or arms. I am not sure how they did it and the metal rod that goes with the stirrups is there, but not attached to the stirrups as that piece will require a little adjusting to make it fit again. The legs are oak and the table is oak. The stirrups appear to be aluminum and the fittings on the corners are brass. I do not know how old it is, but I would guess that it is from the 1800'S to early 1900'S. I am not sure on that one, but it is definitely one of our true American historical medical exam tables. When opened up, the length is approximately, 5' 8.5" and it is approximately, 19" wide and from the floor to the top of the table, it is 27.5" high. There are no marks that I can see on the table and only a patent number on the old rubber in the bag. The lock that closes it is broken so that will need to be refurbished. This old exam table is obviously a bit dirty and will need some dusting. Whomever the maker was of this table made it to last as it is in remarkable condition considering it's age. The handles are leather I think and the material used it an old canvas type rubbery material, but I can't rule out leather either. I just don't know. It has crinkles on the top of it from age, but I am having difficulty in trying to figure the exact material. I can not find another one like this. There are some out there, but not like this one and they have no comparison in quality and craftsmanship as this one. This is a good piece for any medical collection. I will accept Paypal only.
