This is an old 5 3/4" tile set in a walnut or teak frame with 3 ball feet and meant to be a trivet, I think. The tile is one of a series of Shakespearian characters. This is No. 8 and is King Lear. In excellent condition with no cracks or chips--it is black on buff and can be removed from the frame by unscrewing the legs and removing the wood back. T is a crack in the frame on the upper left. On the back of the tile are the words: "Minton's China Works, Stoke on Trent, Walbrook, London" I accept checks, MO's, PayPal, etc.; buyer pays postage and insurance, if desired.
