ANTIQUE BALDWIN BAKELITEHEAD PHONE SET Top of the line, used early radio head phone set, in very good condition. They are marked Nathaniel Baldwin, however I received this head phone set when I purchased several old Atwater Kent radios and related components, from a collector. They are pat. dated 1910-1915, Salt Lake City, Utah. I am only assuming these head phones were used with an old Atwater Kent system , because they were the only radios the old gentleman collected. Did Atwater use head phones from outside manufacturers for t radio sets?As you can see in the photo's, they are well built and very unusual in that the sound diaphragms are mica disc and connected to a driver between the poles of a heavy coiled horseshoe magnet. All internal components appear to be in excellent condition. The adjustable ear pieces are made of bakelite, the hardware is nickle brass, the cords are cloth covered and the head bands are a canvas type material double stiched over spring wire steel. Note : on the side of the magnet t is an opening for the wires to enter, this is not a broken or missing piece. Thank you for taking a look and please ask questions if you have any!
