Antique Turkish Ottoman Wooden Sandals Nalin Inlaid Mother of Pearl & Metal Description Turkish Ottoman Wooden Nalin Sandals This is pair of wooden bathing clogs from the Turkish Ottoman Empire period. These sandals were worn during traditional Turkish bathing rituals by men, women and children. They were made with high heels to protect the feet from soapy and dirty water running on the floor. You can read more about the purpose of these clogs at: /lifestyles/bath/the-bathing-clogs-968.htm These particular clogs are 9 1/4" in length, 2 3/4" wide at the widest point and have a 2" heel. They are inlaid with Mother of Pearl and silver metal (which I have not tested). They do have some minor scratches but I really didn't want to do anything to them. I will leave that to the new owner.
