The more SLEEPING KUTANI PORCELAIN CATS c 1920 , ad relatively newer type, is general Charming Japanese porcelain Kutani sleeping cats, Taisho period, c. 1920. Collar decoration of beautiful raised enamel glaze with blue dots. Has bow around neck with gold bell. Wonderful form and excellent use of gold and color. Highly collectible figure for the cat lover. Excellent condition. No marks, no stains, no chips, no cracks, or missing pieces. One cat is 7 inches long and 4.5 inches wide, the other cat is 4.5 inches long and 3 inches wide. to as simply "Kutani". It began in 1835 in a kiln in Miyamoto, w a Kyoto potter named Zengoro established the Wtechnique. It is a soft ivory colored porcelain with gold and red decoration, or bright white with gold, red, and a light brown.
