Check my ABOUT ME page for more cool stuff! We found this in the estate.. we were told it may have been for some instrument.. or camera. It is very old early 1900s. Solid wood with NO damage anyw Measures approx. 14" x 10" x 10". Trimmed in Iron with extra swivel locks on front to keep it shut when carrying - I guess. The handles are very solid and heavy duty.. so whatever was in it was heavy and probably easy to break or expensive to replace. T is an opening in the front - also trimmed in metal.. for a lens? Back area has a small door that opens and snaps shut. Very clean. No makers mark or name found. But t was a number incised in the wood inside and the hinges have numbers incised on them.
