This is a Quite Wonderful and Beautiful Antique Wooden Communion Tray and Odd Shaped Communion Cups. The Tray itself is Walnut I believe, Dark wood, very pretty rich Wood. The Lid of the Tray is 13" by 13" and stands 2 3/4" tall. It has a 7 3/4" slot in the middle to w the handle of the communion tray goes through. The tray itself is the same Walnut wood and has the same dimensions, except it stands 2 " tall. It rests on 3 carved, detailed legs. T are 35 carved spaces for the cups to rest in. These are round with a different little tip at the top for which they hold the odd type communion glasses. It the middle is a silver 4 1/2" plaque that holds the handle to the wood. Each have a screw on them that connects it to the bottom of the tray. On the plaque it says TORONTO ONT. LePAGE INDIVIDUAL COMMUNION CUP CO. U.S. PAT. NOV 5 95 CAN. PAT. JAN 21 95 then t is a line and under it it says CANADA. The glasses are odd shaped standing 3" tall and have a spout looking area to drink from they come to a point at the top. The base is round with a 1/8" little square pertruding from it. T are 34 of these glasses. None of these glasses are chipped or broken in any way. They are very unusual and beautiful. I had bought these many years ago at an estate sale in an area of Amish Area, I don't know if they used them or to what religion this is from. read more
